AMTAC’s antecedent companies–dating back to 1948–designed and built an impressive array of large machine tools. Our experience and specialized expertise allows us to offer a unique perspective: we have built and engineered a wide variety of new machinery, along with selling used, rebuilt, and retrofitted equipment.

Timeline

1948
Taccone Corporation founded in North East, Pennsylvania by Anthony Taccone. Taccone Corporation developed and sold automated foundry lines in every industrialized country in the world.

1964
RD & D Corporation (Research, Design & Development) founded by Russell W. Taccone, Sr. in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania, which specialized in engineering horizontal and vertical lathes for the steel, forging, energy, and defense industries.

1977
Partnership with NASA to construct a series of machines that manufactured rocket engine nozzles to be used for space shuttles.

1988
AMTAC Corporation founded in Erie, Pennsylvania to combine the development of new equipment manufacturing and the brokerage of new and used machine tool equipment.

1989
A joint venture formed to manufacture machine tools in Eastern Europe for foreign and domestic customers.

2004 – Present
Russell W. Taccone, Jr. manages the business and specializes in the acquisition of new and used machine tool equipment.
